Before I start, I declare today Round All Numbers To The Hundredth Place Day. Ok, moving on…
Well, I know I should have alerted you to this earlier, but I’ve been down in A-town for camp meeting. For those of you who are scratching your heads, wondering what the heck I’m talking about, camp meeting is the annual convention for the Church of God movement (not denomination…that’s for you, Hency). There were somewhere in the ballpark of 6.01 thousand people there, 95.34% of which were 45.02 years of age or older and 76.21% of which were 65.13 years of age or older (based on a sample size of everyone I can remember). Anyway, I played a few shows with my friend Nathanael during the convention. The nice part about it was that we played in a tent outside on a small stage which served as a side stage for the main auditorium, and it was well over 90.36 degrees outside with little breeze. The heat seemed to like to get trapped inside the tent too. Also, there was a big storm the other day, so the tent had some moisture (moist…funny word) issues (mainly lots of mud) the past day or two. Fun stuff. The good news, though, is that our shows didn’t go too badly…well, after the first one. And actually the first one wasn’t too bad. I must’ve been kinda crabby that day, because I remember thinking that it sucked at the time, but it really wasn’t much different than our other 2.00 shows which I look back upon favorably. Today’s show was acoustic, whereas the other two involved a full band. Our bass player (it was just me, Nathanael, and our bass player) for the acoustic show is actually the bass player for Joy Williams. I believe he’s just with her for her summer touring. So that’s fun. Maybe I’ll land a gig like that someday… Maybe… Someday…
Sleep overtakes me,
Matt
